Second scam warning coming from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office

The Logan County Sheriff’s Department is, again, warning citizens of another potential fraud. The accused, unknown suspect is going as far as having their telephone number forward back to the sheriff’s office.

BancFirst ranked in top 10 on Forbes list of America’s best banks

BancFirst was recently named as a top performing bank in the country, according to Forbes.  “America’s Best and Worst Banks,” an article written by Kurt Badenhausen, ranked 100 of the largest publicly traded banks and thrifts nationwide.  BancFirst ranked 10 on the 2015 list, improving its position from the 2014 list.  BancFirst remains the top ranked Oklahoma-based bank on the Forbes annual list.

The Martin Luther King Parade will be held on the 19 of January. The Parade will start at the Scottish Rite Temple and end at the Santa Fe Depot at 10:30a.m. A reception will be held at the Logan County Fairgrounds after the parade. Guthrie Public Schools to purchase land for future school

On Tuesday, the Guthrie Public Schools Board of Education met in special session to approve a purchase agreement for 25 acres of land located east of Charter Oak Road and Douglas Boulevard. This land is in the southern portion of the school district, which comprises 232 square miles of land.

Firefighters extinguish house fire on New Year’s Eve

A house fire on Guthrie’s west side took firefighters nearly three hours to knock down in the early morning hours of New Year’s Eve.
