Police attempting to find sex offender on the run

Update this suspect was apprehended Wednesday, Feb. 12 in Tulsa. Baker will be transported back to Logan County for prosecution.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office requests the public’s assistance in locating a sex offender that is on the run. The subject’s name is Cedric Baker. Read more…

UPDATE ON LOGAN COUNTY HOMICIDE VICTIM (Feb. 1 at 4:00 p.m.)

Victim TattoFrom the investigators. The victim is going to be in his 20’s to possibly early 30’s. 5’8 give or take a couple inches, has tatoo on right shoulder of bulls skull and seal of the Cherokee nation on upper right chest. Unknown weight. Assuming American Indian, but was probably lighter skinned.

The partial tattoo on the bottom is on the right shoulder. The Cherokees have a legend about the horned serpent called the Uktena Investigators believe that is part of the tattoo.

The Cherokee Nation Seal is on the chest of yesterday’s homicide victim.

When does a day’s work stretch into weeks or a month? In the winter…when we are trying to repair potholes in the winter. This previous month’s average temperature has been 36 degrees. With the morning starting out often in single digits, it is hard to do a lot of patching. The whole process needs warmth for quality. We try not to open too many deep patches when we know there could be a few days of bad weather or holiday delays. Read more…

Softball coaches Melyssa Lombardi of defending national champion OU and Rich Wieligman of OSU spoke Thursday at a Guthrie luncheon presenting the Oklahoma Sports Historian of the Year Award. Presented by the Territorial Capital Sports Museum and sponsored by John Vance Motor Group, the awards were presented at the museum to authors Larry C. Floyd and Bill Plummer III for their 2013 book, A Series of Their Own. It chronicles the first 44 years of the Women’s College World Series. Read more…

Warrant: Woman accused of embezzling $36k from hotel

A Logan County judge has issued a felony warrant for a woman accused of stealing more than $36,000 from a local hotel. The woman in question has a convicted criminal history when it comes to unlawful use of money. Read more…
