A new state law which took effect on November 1, 2013, changes the dates and times voters have come to expect for early voting gin Oklahoma. Now, early voting begins on Thursday and continues on Friday, Logan County Election Board Secretary Erin Dorio said today. Of special note, early voting is no longer conducted on Monday. Read more…

City seeking sales tax election for July 14; increase to benefit capital projects

The Guthrie city council will likely seek a proposed sales tax election to registered voters for a half-cent sales tax increase that would benefit capital projects for the City, including such items as a ladder truck for the Guthrie Fire Department, upgrade and relocation of youth baseball and softball fields and beautification. The proposal may be in the hands of voters in the July 14 special election. Read more…

City to seek injunction in district court on burned down Banner School building

The old Banner School building continues to be an eyesore on Guthrie’s west side after the building was set fire 10 months ago. Now, the city council has authorized the city attorney to file a lawsuit in District Court to declare the property a nuisance and to abate the property. Read more…
