Chamber Chat: America’s Cancer Society Relay for Life Marathon Walk

Hello everyone! This weekend is the Timed Event Championship at the Lazy E Arena. Twenty men will be competing for two hundred thousand dollars! Families will enjoy all of the activities planned for the performances.  Ticket prices are $45 for VIP, box seats $35, reserved bleachers $30 and general admission $25. Children 12 and under are free in general admission and VIP. Group and multiple performance discounts are also available. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, http://www.lazye.com, calling Ticketmaster (800) 745-3000 or by calling the Lazy E Arena directly at (800) 595-RIDE.  This year’s Timed Event Championship of the World will be showcased in an RFD-TV prime-time special Wednesday, March 18, just a week after this year’s winner is crowned. Wednesday, Feb. 25, weather permitting, at noon we have scheduled a planning session for our Leader Development Group called G²-Growing Guthrie Leadership, to meet and discuss future plans for a long term program and goals. We envision this group developing leadership skills, gleaning knowledge from elders in our community, then combining their knowledge and sharing it with our High School and Jr. High students to help them become the future Leaders of Guthrie. Hello! The Logan County Long Term Recovery Group is making great strides and has most of the cases closed from last year’s Wildfires and the Pinebrook Apt. fire. The Ministerial Alliance announced they will donate all of the monies offered at the Lenten Lunches this year to the LCLTR group to help our neighbors who may be in need after a disaster!  Thank you for your generosity and support, Guthrie’s Ministerial Alliance. This week’s Lenten Luncheon will be hosted by the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. John Borrego will explain the meaning of Ash Wednesday and lent.  Read more…
