Dist. 2 Update: Logan County’s population up 10.4 percent in the last five years

The Senate and House Appropriations Committees and representatives of the Governor are hammering out a budget as I write this (See Wednesday’s Special Update).  What is at stake for us in District 2 are 15 miles of asphalt roads and five bridges on our 5-year construction plan. The accumulation of funds in the CIRB state general funds account are on the plate for consideration to meet the shortfall in the state’s budget. Read more…

Logan County tax reform to go into law

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin has signed the proposal to reform county government election law. House Bill 1400, proposed by State Representative Jason Murphey and State Senator Anthony Sykes, requires county governments to allow voters to cast a distinct and separate vote on county tax questions. Logan County Health Department celebrates nurses

The Logan County Health Department joins the American Nurses Association, Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), health care professionals, patients and families, during National Nurses Week, May 6-12, in recognizing the important roles that nurses have in providing direct personal health care for patients and families and providing leadership in forming public health policies to improve the quality of care and quality of life for Oklahomans of all ages.
