First flu death reported in Logan County
The Logan County Health Department announced today the first reported flu death this flu season in Logan County. There were five newly reported flu-associated deaths in the state during the last week in Logan, Carter, Comanche, LeFlore and Tulsa counties, bringing the total deaths to 25 statewide this flu season. Mercy rural hospitals participate in National Pilot Program to improve care
OKLAHOMA (Nov. 20, 2013) – Mercy will participate in a national pilot project for small rural hospitals to improve care for patients who transfer from the emergency department. The project is supported by OFMQ, Oklahoma’s Medicare Quality Improvement Organization, and the Oklahoma Office of Rural Health. Oklahoma was one of eight states selected to work on the recently launched pilot project funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Read more…
