Governor Mary Fallin signs bill aimed at reducing prescription drug abuse

OKLAHOMA CITY – Governor Mary Fallin today signed legislation taking aim at Oklahoma’s prescription drug abuse problem, the first bill to be signed into law in 2015. House Bill 1948 seeks to reduce “doctor shopping,” the practice of going to multiple physicians with requests for prescription narcotics, and to reduce the reliance on and inappropriate use of dangerous narcotics to treat pain.

County residents out thousands of dollars with alleged home fraud

Two men have been arrested and two more are being sought for questioning for home repair fraud cases. A 90-year-old Logan County woman was one of the victims.

Guthrie police arrest suspect in stabbing case; suspect on the run for 10 days

Guthrie Police made an arrest on Friday afternoon in the stabbing case that took place on Guthrie’s east side on March 31.
