Terry Lee Girton, 62, posted a $100,000 bail and is facing five charges, including lewd, indecent proposal to a child under 16, violation of computer crimes act, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The fifth charge handed down was disturbing to investigators.

As Girton was being arrested he told them, “I’m HIV positive.” Along with the other charges, Girton also faces the charge of knowingly engage in conduct reasonably likely to transfer acquired immune deficiency syndrome.

Girton reportedly responded to a Craigslist ad posted by a Guthrie police officer who also serves as a member of the OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Just 16 minutes after the post was posted, Girton was in Guthrie city limits where he was arrested.

In addition, Girton also told investigators, “no I know what I am doing is illegal” and that he was at home “board and horny”.

Along with graphic questions and comments, Girton is said to have sent inappropriate pictures to the alleged 15-year-old boy.

Girton is expected back in the Logan County Courthouse on August 22.
