District Judge Phillip Corley kept prospective jurors after 5:oo p.m. on Tuesday after two full days of shifting through possible jurors inside the Logan County Courthouse.

The state and defense are expected to begin their opening arguments at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Brewer was dressed in a gray suit with a yellow tie while his family sat in the back row of the court room throughout the day.

Both the state and defense drilled potential jurors with repetitive questions for each juror. There was an estimated 80 total jurors that began the day.

The final jury selection includes 10 white females, two white males and one white female as an alternative juror.

Included in the juror box is a triage nurse, retired registered nurse, a city worker, an insurance agent and a retired Wal Mart worker.

By law, both the state and defense can excuse five jurors after their question and answer session. The state elected to excuse four potential jurors while the defense excused three.

Judge Corley excused two males and two females from their duty once they were called to the juror box.
