New citizen participation in local government. After our town hall meeting last week we had several folks sign up to be on our new finance, road and safety committees. Our first meeting of the road and safety committees will be scheduled later this month and the finance committee will meet next month to start the new (FY 2016) budget planning process.  Read more…

Logan County District 2 has been working hard to repair the many roads heavily damaged by this winter’s soaking rains and snow. Today we will finish gravelling a four-mile stretch from County Road 74 and Triple X close to Coyle down to Cooksey and Luther Rd. This is a major Coyle School bus route. Read more…

Last  week I wrote about seeing a group of folks from the Seward Road Baptist Church out picking up trash along Broadway just south of Seward Road. Since writing that last week we have been contacted by some interested in helping out but needed help with pick-up and disposal of the filled trash bags.  Read more…

With St. Patrick’s Day come and gone the green of spring can only be just around the corner and so is spring cleaning. This week I noticed a group of folks picking up trash along Broadway just south of Seward Road.  As it turns out it was volunteers from the Seward Road Baptist Church out picking up the unsightly trash littering our county roadsides.  I wanted to publicly thank that particular congregation and all of our faith based organizations who donate their time and efforts to improve our community and assist those less fortunate than most. Logan County District 2: County now in compliance with ambulance service

Recently, many of our citizens have been assaulted with the most road damaging type of weather possible. Soaking rain, days at a time, with slow melting snow, sleet and ice have softened the cap on almost all dirt/gravel roads. This has set us back on several gravel road projects as we address these problem areas as rapidly as possible. Please drive with care until they can be repaired. Read more…
