“local celebrity” and “hero dad” arrested for alleged lewd and indecent proposals
A Guthrie man was arrested last week by the El Reno Police Department and is said to allegedly had an inappropriate social media relationship with a 13-year-old girl.
In a statement, the El Reno Police Department said they had initiated an investigation on April 21 using an undercover profile of a 13-year-old girl through social media and was contacted by a person who identified himself as a 24-year-old male.
The subject sent two lewd images claiming these images were of him. The suspect identified himself as being from Guthrie where he lived and wanted to meet with the girl in order to engage in sex acts with her. The suspect further identified himself as Sean and bragged he was a “local celebrity” dubbed as “hero dad” stemming from an incident in Guthrie in November of 2014.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to make a full identification of the suspect as Sean Ryan Dunagan, 24. Arrangements were made with Dunagan for the purpose of having sexual intercourse with the 13-year-old female. When Dunagan arrived, investigators took Dunagan into custody without incident.
Dunagan is being held in the El Reno jail on a $150,000.00 bond and is facing a charges of lewd or indecent proposals or acts to a child under 16 (four counts), and facilitating, encouraging, offering or soliciting sexual conduct or engaging in sexual communication with a minor or person believed to be a minor.

Last November, Guthrie News Page was on the scene shortly after Dunagan stopped a man from taking his truck with his child inside while pumping gas into a vehicle at a Guthrie convenience store. Related story: Man attempts to steal truck with child inside; officer needs stitches in head
Dunagan began pumping gasoline in his friend’s vehicle, which was parked in front of his vehicle, when the suspect (Robert Bell, 28, of Woodward) came out of no where and attempted to take off in the truck with Dunagan’s child still inside. Dunagan and others worked together to stop Bell from taking off and were able to gain control of Bell to the ground until police arrived.
KFOR met up with Dunagan the following day and in part said, “I want to get this guy off the streets. I don’t want anybody else’s children have to endure something like this. I want this guy locked away for sure.” Related story: Oklahoma father stops man allegedly trying to steal truck with 5-year-old boy inside
