District One: Town hall meeting set for Thursday evening

With St. Patrick’s Day come and gone the green of spring can only be just around the corner and so is spring cleaning. This week I noticed a group of folks picking up trash along Broadway just south of Seward Road.  As it turns out it was volunteers from the Seward Road Baptist Church out picking up the unsightly trash littering our county roadsides.  I wanted to publicly thank that particular congregation and all of our faith based organizations who donate their time and efforts to improve our community and assist those less fortunate than most. OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Arts Council has announced the names of individuals selected to participate in the 2015 Leadership Arts program. The list includes 35 individuals from 27 Oklahoma communities who will convene throughout the spring to learn how to develop and advance their communities through the arts. Read more…

Leadership Arts 2015 set for Guthrie this week

Guthrie is welcoming 36 of the most interesting folks in Oklahoma to town for the 2nd Session of Leadership Arts 2015 set for March 24-26.Three Leadership Arts graduates from Guthrie, along with The Arts in Guthrie, will be hosting the group. Van French, Shirley Clifford and Lucy Swanson are working with OAC to make sure that this class has a wonderful experience in Guthrie and that they make plans to come back. Read more…
