Town of Coyle receives OGE Growth Grant
Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB) has notified the Town of Coyle that their Great American Cleanup™ (GAC) in Oklahoma effort this spring has been awarded a 2015 OGE Growth Grant. The group is among 26 groups across the state that have been selected to receive a $200 Start-Up or $300 Growth cash award made possible by OGE Energy Corp.
Coyle will use the grant funds to support the promotion of the Great American Town Cleanup Day, volunteer luncheon, volunteer prize, planting materials, drought resistant flowers and shrubs to be used in the park. The Town will provide the volunteers who participate in the cleanup with lunch as well as a special prize for the volunteer who collects the most trash.
“The impact this will have is to bring together the community in a supportive way, clean up the town and offer a social building experience for those who participate,” said Brittany Cole, Co-Chair of the Coyle Community Improvement Committee. “The hope is by outreaching and working to promote the event that it will bring the community closer together and more willing to take an ongoing interest in keeping the town clean.”
Town of Coyle will join 200 groups and 50,000 volunteers across Oklahoma, in every county, to take part in the Great American Cleanup™ in Oklahoma in 2015. KOB encourages all cities and organizations to commit to beautifying their communities year round, but places an emphasis on it during the GAC from March 1 – May 31.
