Sereniah Breland, United Way Campaign Chairwoman, noted “We are almost at the top!!  With just a few days of the campaign left we are within a few dollars of making our goal for the eighth year in a row. Wow, with a little more push we can achieve our goal and most importantly bring over $200,000 to our 10 partner agencies. Mike Turpen to headline Guthrie Educational Foundation fundraising event

The Guthrie Educational Foundation provides grants, scholarships and awards to Guthrie teachers to enrich the academic curricula and resources available to students enrolled in the Guthrie Public Schools. Hello!  The Central Oklahoma Community Action used to provide free tax return services for families within a certain tax base, that service was dropped this year. We were extremely pleased to hear that the Guthrie Public Library has picked up that program which will begin now and end on the 15th of April!  The Library is located at 201 N. District 1 update: Projects nearing completion

On Sunday, Jan. 18, the residents in the south part of District 1 were once again threatened by rural wildfire. Thanks to the quick action of our county’s regional volunteer firefighters, Guthrie FD, Logan County Emergency Management, as well as others, the threat was quickly contained. We all owe these individuals a debt of gratitude and thanks on a job well done and for the job they continue to do for us. Read more…

Committee discusses disc golf course in Highland Park
