School board candidate filings set to begin December 1

Candidates for the Board of Education in 16 Logan County school districts will file their Declarations of Candidacy over three days beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, and continuing Tuesday and Wednesday, Logan County Election Board Secretary Erin Dorio said today.

school boardDorio said the official filing period ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3. All candidate filings will occur at the Logan County Election Board office, 224 E Vilas Ave, in Guthrie, Dorio explained.

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled February 10, 2015. If no candidate receives more than 50% of the total votes cast in this election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in a runoff election on Tuesday, April 7, 2015.

Offices for which Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office include the following:

Coyle I-14 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Crescent I-2 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Guthrie I-1 School District—Office No. 5 (4-yr)

Mulhall-Orlando I-3 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Cashion K-89 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Office No. 2 (2-yr unexpired)

Covington-Douglas I-94 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Deer Creek I-6 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Edmond I-12 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Luther I-3 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Perkins-Tryon I-56 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Wellston I-4 School District—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Autry Technology—Office No. 3 (5-yr)

Eastern Oklahoma Technology Ctr #23—Office No. 4 (5-yr)

Francis-Tuttle Technology Ctr #21—Office No. 5 (5-yr)

Gordon Cooper Technology Ctr #5—Office No. 2 (5-yr)
