The 8-month-old infant was recovered from the first floor of the building after the fire was knocked down. Both of the child’s parents escaped from the building.

Emergency crews responded to the apartment complex at 902 N. Pine, at the intersection of Pine and College, just before 3:30 a.m. Officers from the Guthrie Police Department arrived in seconds only to find the fully engulfed structure.

The fire also engulfed three vehicles parked in front of the building.

The fire victims, who had jumped from the building, received injuries ranging from broken bones to scrapes from broken glass. Three people were treated at a Edmond hospital and four others in Guthrie.

The State Fire Marshal and Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene

The cause of the fire is under investigation and the name of the baby was not release.

Residents have been given temporary shelter at a nearby nursing home.

The American Red Cross is reaching out to families affected by the apartment fire.
