Crash leaves two dead; three more hospitalized

It is unclear what caused a two-vehicle accident on Saturday evening resulting in two deaths and three others left with serious injuries.

WreckSeveral agencies responded to State Highway 33 and Western just after 7 p.m. for the accident that killed one person at the scene and another at a Oklahoma City hospital.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a 2000 Toyota and a 2000 Ford Ranger pick up were involved with the cause of collision labeled as “pending investigation.”

The driver of the Toyota, Joseph Vadder III, 62, was transported to OU Medical Center and admitted in stable condition. The passenger, Rebecca Vadder, 60, was transported to OU Medical where she later died. Both from Hennessey, Okla.

Michael Kangeter, 34, of Guthrie was the driver of the pick up was transported by helicopter to OU Medical and admitted in critical condition with internal and external injuries to the head, trunk, arms and legs.

The first passenger, Erube Rodriguez, 35, of Guthrie was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second passenger was Baylor Heflin, 21, of Guthrie. He was also transported by air to the hospital and is listed in critical condition with internal and external injuries.

OHP was assisted by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Guthrie Police Department, Guthrie Fire Department and Crescent Fire Department.
