Mustang man dies on highway accident in Logan County

One person was killed Sunday afternoon after his vehicle crossed the center line on State Highway 74.

Fatality AccidentGary Forsythe, 22, of Mustang was pronounced dead at OU Medical Center due to injuries sustained in the collision.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, Forsythe was travelling southbound on Highway 74 in a 2001 Nissan Frontier when for unknown reasons went across the center line and ran head on into a 2013 Peterbilt semi pulling a empty hopper trailer.

Both vehicles departed the roadway and to the right.

The accident was a tenth of a mile south of County Road 60 and three miles east of the town Marshall. The accident was reported just before 3 p.m.

The semi driver from Norman was not injured. A passenger in the Frontier, also from Mustang, went by a personal vehicle to a Oklahoma City hospital with possible injury to his arms. He was the only person in the accident not wearing a seat belt.

Forsythe was pinned for approximately 25 minutes before being extricated by the Crescent Fire Department.
