Justin, of Guthrie, is the son of Larry and Joyce Holden.

Justin joins his older brother Logan, who is also an Eagle Scout from Troop 850, along with his younger brother soon to be Eagle Scout Chase Holden. This will make the second family of three Eagle scouts each from Troop 850.

The Eagle Scout Award is Scouting’s highest rank.  In order to qualify for the award a board of review examines the proficiency in the various crafts and skills prescribed for the eagle rank, leadership in troop, school, church, and community, and the candidate’s character.  The Eagle Scout strives to put into daily practice the principles of the scout oath and law.  Less than 4 percent of all scouts ever achieve the rank of eagle.

Justin created and led a service project which was a frame off restoration of a 45-year-old portable lighted sign used by the Methodist Church and others in Guthrie.

Justin, 18, is a 2014 graduate of Guthrie High School that will be attending the University of Central Oklahoma this fall and will be majoring in Engineering.
