Candidate forum set for Saturday morning

The Logan County GOP and the First Capitol Republican Women will host a candidate forum for the local Senate, House of Representatives and District Attorney races.

The forum will promptly start at 9 a.m. inside the First Southern Baptist Church Family Life Center, located at 315 N. Wentz, in Guthrie.

The forum is free and open to the public.

Rep. Murphey present for 99.4% of all votes

OKLAHOMA CITY – State Representative Jason Murphey (R-Guthrie) made sure that he was representing House District 31 citizens by being present to vote in 959 out of 965 roll call votes or %99.4 of the time during the recently concluded 2014 legislative session and 71 out of 71 votes in the preceding special session. During the eight-year time frame since being elected to office, Murphey voted in 10,148 out of 10,211 roll call votes, or 99.4% of the time.

Early voting begins on Thursday, June 19

New Oklahoma law changes ‘early’ voting to the prior Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; affects June 24 Primary Election.

A new state law which took effect on November 1, 2013, changes the dates and times voters have come to expect for early voting in Oklahoma.  Now, early voting begins on Thursday and continues on Friday and Saturday, Logan County Election Board Secretary Erin Dorio explained today.  Of special note, early voting is no longer conducted on Monday.
