Storm season is here. For your safety, notify the Guthrie Fire Department at 209 E. Springer and let them know if you have a tornado or safe room on your property and where it is located, especially if it is inside or beneath your home.

All storm sirens hoped to be fixed this week

Updated on Monday, April 28 at 9 a.m. — The final two storm sirens have been fixed and all 14 are believed to be in working condition.

The monthly siren test will be conducted on Friday if weather elements allow.

A power surge earlier this month knocked out three storm sirens and now officials are anticipating all 14 sirens will be back in working condition this week.

High winds leaves damages to house and barn

The Sunday morning storms were a welcomed site for rain, but the high winds were not quite so pleasant. With the winds and damage, some believe an EF0 tornado may have hit the south side of Guthrie. Read more…
