Lions Club hosting a Street Dance for ‘89ers

Bookmark and Share

An old ‘89er venue is being revisited this year — a good old fashioned Street Dance. Lion Club President Cheryl Tarter noted, “The club wanted to do something special for ‘89er Celebration Week and after some discussion we decided to throw all our support to bringing back the street dance venue.  The club is really excited about this special event which will be held on Friday, April 18th at 7 p.m. at Oklahoma and 2nd Street”.

Street DanceLion Lucy Swanson Street Dance Coordinator says, “We are really looking forward to the music of two great local bands; “The Infidels” and “Badlands”.  Both bands have a large local following and play a wide variety of music for your listening and dancing enjoyment.  We have special staging, lighting and sound systems set up for the evening so come out and enjoy.”

Cheryl added, “If it looks like the weather is not cooperating that evening, our alternative site is the American Legion Ballroom, just around the corner on 1st Street.  Either way, come out with your friends and neighbors, bring your lawn chairs, put on your dancing boots and get ready for some great music.  Lucy added “and  guess what —– it is all FREE!”

Information on all these activities and more may be found on “89erdays.com” web site or by calling 282-2589.  You may also receive information and share happenings on face book pages (89er days; or Stake Your Claim 5k) for pictures, sharing and comments.
