A social media post helped the Guthrie Police Department capture two juveniles inside the Guthrie Junior High School late Thursday evening. That post came from one of the juveniles while inside the school.

PolicePolice responded to the school shortly after 10 p.m. when a third party reported they saw the tweet online.

Once officers arrived to the school, they spotted movement inside. With a perimeter set in place, a K9 officer made his way to the school.

Officers then made entry into the school and that is when the juveniles took off on foot.

One juvenile was captured quickly. However, the second juvenile was not taken into custody until several minutes later and several blocks away.

A school spokesperson says a small amount of graffiti was found in one classroom.

Police said the juveniles made their way into the school through a window. They were arrested for second degree burglary, receiving stolen property, malicious injuries to property and obstructing officers.
