Guthrie’s Got Talent coming in November

On November 17, a community wide talent show is going to be held at the Guthrie Scottish Rite Auditorium. The event is set to start at 2 p.m, and hopes to showcase a wide variety of talent from citizens in the Logan county area.

TalentThe event is being sponsored by Guthrie Masonic Lodge #35 and Trinity DeMolay Chapter. Anyone interested in auditioning for the show is invited to do so at one of three different open auditions, to be held at Faver High School. The show is looking for vocalists, bands, dancers, magicians, musicians, or any other talents,  people might want to share their talent.

Steve Hanna one of the organizers of the event noted: “We are hoping to make this an annual event, and I think it will be a lot of fun. I hope everyone will make plans to either participate or attend. We have a lot of talent in our community and they deserve an opportunity to showcase their abilities.”

After auditions are completed those chosen for the show will be notified, and will compete in one of four age groups, 12 and under, 13-18, 19-54 and seniors 55 and up.  The age groups are subject to change based on the numbers in each chosen for the show. Winners will be chosen in each category, and all contestants will compete for a people’s choice award. Each contestant will have a donation container at the show. The contestant receiving the most donations will win the people’s choice award along with a cash prize.

Auditions will be October 21 and 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, October 26 from 2 to 6 p.m. A $5 audition fee will be charged, per act. Individuals are welcome to audition more than once, but it must be a different act, or with a different group. If you would like to audition or have questions, you can call Steve Hanna at (405) 550-5338. you can also simply show up on the audition dates. Please be prepared to perform your act at auditions.

Tickets will be on sale beginning November 1, 2013 and will be $5 per person, and will also be available at the door. Plans are being made to video the show and copies of the performance will be available for order at the show.
