GUTHRIE, Okla. – Rocky Patterson knew he needed to be fast. The 2012 Steer Roping World Championship depended on it. Patterson was. He posted a 10.3-second run to win the 10th go-round at the Clem McSpadden National Finals Steer Roping and outlast Trevor Brazile by $418 to win his third Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Championship. Five mile paving project passes half way completion

Another major step is about to be completed on the five mile paving project of Midwest from Waterloo to Forrest Hills (No Name) and No Name from Midwest to Pine. On February 22, Midwest was paved from Charter Oak to Simmons. On June 19, Midwest from Simmons to Waterloo was paved. We are just about ready to finish No Name, the third mile, between Midwest and Pine. Read more…

Over nine miles of paving improvements planned

We are multi-tasking at District 1. Current projects planned or underway include preparing to pave three miles of Broadway from Waterloo to Simpson and various streets within Oak Tree Addition; construction of Broadway Bridge at Camp Road; replacement of the bridge on Charter Oak one-half mile west of Santa Fe, paving Simpson from Sooner to Coltrane, and numerous guardrail replacement and pavement marking projects. IBC Bank set to demolish and rebuild downtown bank

IBC Bank, the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce and the Historic Preservation Commission were on hand Wednesday morning to commemorate the demolition of the IBC Bank building.
