The 2012 89er Days Parade is scheduled to begin at noon this Saturday, April 21.

In preparation for the parade, the Guthrie Police Department will be placing barricades along the parade route from 4:00A.M. to 7:00 A.M. at the following locations:

  • All of the streets surrounding the Masonic Temple.
  • All North and South intersections on Oklahoma Street from Capital to Second Street.
  • All North and South intersections on Harrison Street from Second Street to Ash.
  • Division Street for north and south traffic will be closed at 11:00A.M. to vehicle traffic for the parade.

DIVISION STREET TRAFFIC DETOUR – Division will be closed at 11:00 A.M. to north and south traffic. All northbound vehicle traffic will be detoured onto Industrial Avenue from Division and will go to Pine as a bypass for the parade route.  All Southbound vehicle traffic on Division will be directed to go to Pine then turn south and go to Industrial and west to Division to bypass the parade route.

It is requested that all residents not park on the street in the area of the Masonic Temple, on Oklahoma and Harrison Streets until after the parade which will end at approximately 2:00 P.M. so the 89ers Day Parade and detoured traffic will be better accommodated for this day.  All vehicles need to be off the parade route by no later than 8:00A.M.

The City of Guthrie Police Department and 89er Committee thank you for your cooperation and assistance in making this a safe and enjoyable event for the entire community.

Thanks for the info. Any news on when/where the streets downtown will be blocked off for the vendors?

Susan – I was up town this morning and it appears 1st Street from Cleveland to Oklahoma and from Oklahoma to Harrison are blocked off for the food vendors.

I want to believe from the past, that Cleveland will be blocked off from 1st Street to 2nd Street.
