October 9th through October 15th is Fire Prevention Week and the Guthrie Fire Department is full of activity this week.

Exterior Renovation Complete on Historic Water Works Building

Thanks to the partnership between the Logan County Historical Society and the City of Guthrie the Historic Water Works Building has a new roof, a new coat of paint and all the windows have been repaired. The Water Works Building had deteriorated over the years and became an example of the need to perform preventative maintenance on city buildings.

Mercy Hospital host community roundtable event

Members of the Guthrie community took part in a roundtable discussion with Mercy Hospital Logan County Tuesday evening inside the Dominion House to discuss the hospital’s presence in the community.
