A 42-year-old Edmond woman has been charged with three counts, including one felony, in Logan County.

Tamara Kay Herrington, 42, is being charged with burglary in the first degree. The charge carries a punishment of imprisonment for 7 to 20 years.

According to the police report, Herrington forcibly broke into a residence on South Academy Road in Guthrie, on July 8th, while the resident was asleep. The report says Herrington’s intent was to do bodily injury to the female inside.

The report went on to say Herrington  strangled the resident inside with force and violence with the unlawful intent to do victim corporal hurt and bodily injury. The assault and battery misdemeanor charge can carry 90 days in jail and/or a fine up to $1,000.

Herrington’s second misdemeanor charge is resisting an officer by kicking and pulling away while being placed in hand cuffs. The charge can bring jail up to a year and/or a $500 fine.

The court set bond of $22,000 and a preliminary hearing for August 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. The case has been assigned to Judge Phillip C. Corley.
