Fire crews take out fire on Waterloo Road

Bookmark and Share

Numerous fire stations, including Guthrie, were called out to a grass fire Monday morning a half mile north of Waterloo Road on MacArthur, near Deer Creek, in Edmond.

The fire was shortly contained with crews on the scene after 11 am putting out hot spots.

According to Guthrie Fire Chief, Eric Harlow, the fire was started by a farmer cutting hay and struck a rock to start the blaze.

The Deer Creek fire station was assisted with three trucks from Oak Cliff, two from Oklahoma City, Guthrie and Kingfisher, and one from Piedmont and Cashion in additon to their five trucks.
There were no injuries, or lost structures. Harlow did say there was some damage to some fence posts and a riding lawn mower.
