Guthrie receives $8k grant; funds will help with bike racks, street paint

Guthrie was one of 21 cities to be awarded a Healthy Communities Incentive Grant from the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET). On May 9, the Oklahoma TSET Board of the Directors approved a $8,000 grant for Guthrie to help continue projects that promote physical activity, wellness and overall community health. Read more…

Every year, National Nurses Week, May 6-12, focuses attention on the diverse ways America’s 3.1 million registered nurses work to save lives and to improve the health of millions of individuals. There are approximately 42,743 RNs and 18,806 LPNs working in the field of nursing to improve health care in Oklahoma. The celebration begins May 6 on RN Recognition Day and ends May 12, on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of nursing as a modern profession. Read more…
