Cemetery hours become more clear
It has been uncertain as to when Guthrie’s Summit View Cemetery gates were closed, but thanks to a citizen the cemetery will now have set hours.
The previous hours were from 7 a.m. to dark and proved to be difficult for citizens to visit the cemetery.
“The reasoning was very valid since the sun is down before many people get home from work and are therefore unable to visit their loved ones in the winter months,” City Manager Matt Mueller said.
The new hours for viewing at the cemetery will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Police department will continue to lock the gates.
