Dog Park will have to wait, again

The City of Guthrie has a variety of options when it comes to city parks in town for families, but there are no options for dogs despite several attempts.

District 1 Road and Bridge Improvements in Review

On June 30, county government closed its fiscal year. It was a clear reminder that we are halfway through 2011. In light of that, it seems timely to review the progress we have made in District 1.

Water line breaks; residents without water

Guthrie city crews responded to a water line break that cause some citizens to do without water for a short period of time on Thursday afternoon.

The water line crew repaired a water main break at Wentz and Bird Creek just south of Guthrie High School.

City Manager Matt Mueller said the cause was from excess heat and lack of moisture in the ground. The break that occurred around 3 p.m. took about an hour to repair. The areas affected were from College to Cooksey Road and Wentz to Walnut.

Ostate All-American arrested in Logan County

Former stand-out at Oklahoma State and Chicago Bears tight end Alonzo Mayes was arrested in Logan County on July 15, 2011 for a misdemeanor.

Child struck by vehicle

A small male child appeared to step out in front of a vehicle Thursday morning on Division and Harrison. The child was treated at the scene by Guthrie paramedics and suffered a bump on the head.

West side fire station has a new owner

It took nearly 25 minutes to auction off, but the west side fire station has a new owner.
